Issue: When connecting to an Excel workbook (with ODBC) numerical data is no longer formatted. eg 0000000123 becomes 123.
Resolution: This is a general limitation using ODBC. The solution is to reformat the data within CR8 Card Printing Software using formatting strings.
Instead of entering just the data field name in the database box, enter a formatting string also: eg: magdata {0000000000} will format the data field called magdata to 10 digits with leading zeros.
See the help file: help/database/SQL select and formatting strings for other formatting options.
An alternative solution is to save the data as a comma delimited (.csv) file then connect using the internal text data interface.
