I have just purchased type 3.2 in order to edit a font (and I am totally new to font design)... The original font is great but it is missing the accented characters for foreign languages... So I load the original font in Type 3.2 and I design my missing characters (by copying and pasting existing elements only). I save as a .ttf or as an .otf file but the font I obtain is more spaced (kerning?) than the orignial one... Now I could have made a mistake during the editing but here is the thing I don't get: Even if simply open the original font and save it under a different name without any editing at all, I obtain a font with a different spacing between glyphs... I attach a screenshot of the preview of the original font (below) and the result font (above). Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you, Thomas Attachments:

"Even if simply open the original font and save it under a different name without any editing at all, I obtain a font with a different spacing between glyphs.." This tells me that there is something odd going on - there may be something non-standard about the original font.
Do you want to send me the original font so I can have a look at it (allanmurray@cr8software.net)?

A flag in the PostScript table of this font was incorrectly set - indicating that it was a mono-spaced font.
The solution was to open the font in Type 3.2, then select description from the font menu and un-check the mono spaced check-box.
