Hi Allan, I'm not sure whether this is a bug but it seems impossible for me to make effective improvements on the spacing of overlapped characters as shown in my MsWord & PDF sample files. What I observed is that when I map a character to the "Private Use Area" (E000-F8FF), the spacing is just right. But when I map the character to the "CJK Unified Ideographs" (4E00-9FFF), the characters overlap. Any remedies here? Attachments:

I ran a few tests and found that this problem occured on MS Word 2010, and Windows 7 WordPad. But does not occur on Excel 2010, MS Word 2000 or Libre Office 4.0.
What appears to be happening on Word 2010 is that the characters width is defaulting to the 'Undefined characters' width (glyph 0). If you alter the advance width of glyph #0, then the character displays correctly.
I also tried the same thing with a different font editor, and the same thing happened.
It maybe a glitch in MS Word. I suspect it has something to do with the fact the font has only a couple of characters in it, and some kind of weird substitution is happening with the CJK characters. You might find that if you had a font with a more complete set of CJK characters that the problem disappears.
