I have an existing .ttf font file and the corresponding .eot file which contains some graphics icons. The .eot is the file I need to reference from my css. I know this file is valid because I already use it. I need to add an extra icon. Please note that I never do that before. First test: I try to open the .ttf file in the editor (Type Light 3.2) and immediately save it without changing anything. Then I converted this .ttf file to .eot file with ttf2eot.sebastiankippe.com/ Finally I noticed that I cannot use it from my css. No more readable? Another test: directly converted my original .ttf file to .eot file with ttf2eot.sebastiankippe.com/ Finally I noticed that I can use it from my css. So it seems the the conversion process is ok BUT it seems that the editor is the problem. My question: is there anything special to do to be able to edit my .ttf without corrupting it? Thanks in advance. I attached the ttf file if you would like to test it yourself. Attachments:

The font seems to be flagged as a symbol font, but the characters are not mapped to the correct unicode range for a symbol font (F000 to F0FF). This seems to be confusing the font editor, which only maps within this range for a symbol font.
On the mapping window, on the CodePage Symbol Character Set, make sure that active check box is not ticked each time you save the font. It will appear ticked again when you open the font, but just make sure it is unticked when you save.
Let me know if this works. The font will no longer be flagged as a symbol font - but hopefully this will not be a problem, because I don't think it should have been in the first place.

Thank you very much. Your solution is the right one. I'm very pleased with this tool.
