Type 3.1
The grid has ceased to function (CTRL G) and I only have a white background. Tried deleting and reinstalling Type 3.1 but that did not work.
Does this function depend upon JAVA? I recently deleted JAVA.
Thanks.

Check that the grid size has not been set too big or too small (default is 100 units), also check the brightness setting of your monitor, as the grid is quite light and may not show up if the brightness has been adjusted.
Type 3.2 and Type light do not use JAVA in any way.

Thank you for the reply, grid size was the first thing that I checked (and that Grid was checked in view). I tried adjusting brightness and contrast (which I had not changed prior to the grid disappearing), no luck. I just can not understand it, I found the grid very useful (used all the time), One day there and now refuses to appear. Very strange.

The latest version is 3.2.016. While I am not aware of any issue with the grid on earlier versions, there have been numerous updates/fixes since then. I would advise upgrading to the latest version. But, because this is not free (US $12), I would recommend that you download the latest version of Type light (freeware) cr8software.net/typelight.html first to see if the grid is working for you on that, before upgrading. Type light 3.2 will not interfere with your current install of Type 3.1. If you want to upgrade please contact me at allanmurray@cr8software.net.

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit is my OS, Don't think I mentioned that before.
Downloaded and tried the latest Type light, still no grid so something must be interfering with it. I had tried putting a background image in to trace prior to noticing the loss of the grid, could that have done something?
Anyhow, even without the grid I think it is great software.

Solved Catalyst Control Center (for graphics card). Had Gamma increased slightly but it was just enough to make the grid invisible. Sorry to have troubled you. Paul
