Issue: When saving a CR8 canvas the printer settings were not saved and had to be reset every time the canvas was opened. The printer used was a Zebra P430i on a network.
Resolution: The current version of CR8 Card Printing Software (5.1.008) only stores up to 30 characters for the printer driver name, so the printer was not recognised on subsequent openings.
The Zebra P430i network printer driver has a default name: Zebra Performance Class Network1 (33 characters). The solution was to rename the printer driver in the printers folder to a shorter name then reboot the computer.
The next update of CR8 Card Printing Software will allow for longer printer driver names.

My primary goal is to figure out a way of giving users access to their printers without using a costly 3rd party solution. I'm hoping that someone has a suggestion. Oh, by the way, Win2K3 is not going to happen because of the application's constraints, but that's a whole separate set of problems. Thanks.

Datasystem,
If you email your details to allanmurray@cr8software.net I can send you upgrade details to version 5.1.013 (it is a free upgrade).
Alternatively, have you tried renaming the printer?
