Hi all, first of all, I apologize in advance for my English that is patchy and chock-full of syntactical inaccuracies. That said, I applaud the Type 3.2 software, with which I am enthusiastically forging my first fonts. However, I am experiencing some minor problems.
1. I have created some kerning rules. The most tedious are the rules involving accented letters. So I thought of adding those rules directly via .feax file, exporting the file, compiling it manually and then re-importing it. The thing is, I don't really care. I first tried importing the single rule (e.g., after the rule "pos a b -50," on the next line I would put the rule "pos agrave b -50"), but nothing: it doesn't import anything to me. Then I deleted all the rules, and tried re-importing them all, including those added by hand, but nothing. Finally, I imported the rules saved directly with the software (after having previously exported the file), but even so nothing. The only option left to me was to add the rules via kerning panel. Aside from the fact that this way I risk taking forever to create every single combination, other than that, the only way to import is to write the character as unicode. If I enter the name (e.g., agrave or à), I get a window with an imput error. I was wondering if I am missing something? Maybe I am getting the import and export system wrong. I've read the manual but on the point I can't find anything.
2. How do I manage the classes for OTF? I can't find anything in the documentation about this and nothing in the software either (other than checking the little box on OTF options).
3. One problem I then encountered relates to the poor handling of enlargements. Theoretically if the cursor is placed on a specific point, when zooming in the area should enlarge right on that point, instead it goes a bit on its own and each time I have to move the scroll bars to find the point I am interested in. This is definitely inconvenient for me.
Apart from these problems, I give the author my compliments for the software, which is extremely powerful, simple and functional.
I hope you have some clarifications for me. :-)
Ps. I'm using this software on both Windows and Mac
