Refer to the subject. I just failed to open a ttf font file. The font is working fine in Windows and Linux, but does not work in MacOS. That's why I installed typelight to fix the problem but it failed to open the file. You can download the ttf font from this link yaochi.fun/tmp/mini_fanfang.ttf Thanks a lot for your help. Edited: The following image attachment is how it looks in font book if I copy it manually to ~/Library/Fonts. Even if it shows in font books, it does not work. If I add it from font book UI, it will report " 'name' table structure error ". I had this error in some other fonts too, but those fonts with the same error can be fixed easily with typelight app, but not this. Thanks.

The problem with the font is that it contains no Macintosh (Roman) name entry, and no default English (US) name entry, both of which are standard. (There is only a name entry for Simplified Chinese.)
The font does in fact open in Windows version of Type light, and can probably be fixed from there by entering the standard English and Mac name entries (font menu/names or font menu/rename font).
I will look into why it will not open in Mac version as it is desirable for the software to be able to fix such font issues.
