I'd like to see an option to make Greek composite glyphs, provided the raw material is present in the font of course. These will go into the Greek Extended (1f00 - 1fff) part of the font. As an alternative or, perhaps, as an addition, I'd like to see composite glyphs made using a file as input, with the file contents something like this: 1f02 03b1 1fcd meaning that the glyph that has hex position 1f02 is made up of the glyphs for base letter 03b1 plus decorator 1fcd. The program should be able to arrange that none of the glyphs that make up the composite overlap, by keeping the base letter in place and moving the decorators accordingly. The metrics should be those of the base letter. Obviously the user should be advised to check each composite and adjust its parts manually as necessary. I have attached a .gfs of 1f02 (Monotype™ Garamond Italic alpha with grave and smooth breathing) that I made earlier, to give an idea of what I am talking about Attachments:

That is good idea that I will look into including in the upgrade next-year. The composite glyph wizard works in a similar way to what you have described - but is currently hard-coded for Latin glyphs only. I cannot view your gfs though - composite glyphs cannot be saved to a partial (range of glyphs) gfs.
Allan.
