Hi, As the title starts, this is not so much a Type3.2 related question, but a general font file format question that I need some advice on. Basically I'm creating a symbol font (Dingbat) for use in a large multi volume publishing project. Each page layout will utilise the dingbat font for certain symbols, but at a later date I will very likely come across a situation that will require additional symbols/glyphs to be added to the font file. What I don't want is a situation arising when I create a load of page layouts using the dingbat font. Then later I add some more symbols/glyphs to the font and re-save/install the amended font and the page layouts that I have already created have missing typeface issues because I have changed the original dingbat font file that the earlier page layouts utilised. I suppose what I'm really asking is: Can you add additional glyphs to a font file so that it is essentially still recognised as being the same font file used on previous page layouts. If I keep the file name of the font the same, will, for example Adobe Illustrator or Indesign still think it's the same font that was used on those early page layouts/documents or will they have missing font issues because I changed the original font file? Thanks for any advice on this.
