A new update for Type 3.2 (full and demo versions) has been released (Window 3.2.035 and Mac 3.2.022x).
This update introduces a new feature: Glyph Groups. A Glyph Group is a named list of glyph names that can be used for various purposes.
To create a new Glyph Group, select Glyph Groups from the Global menu. Here you can create new Groups, save or load Groups to a .feax file, and also add glyphs to Groups by manually entering glyph names. Once a Group has been created you can also add glyphs to it by selecting glyphs in the mapping window and then use add to group from the right click menu.
Glyph groups can be used in OpenType feature files to represent OpenType Classes. An action script can now also be run on the glyphs contained in a selected group.
There will be other uses for Glyph Groups in future updates including Class Kerning and Glyph Groups that link glyph metrics.
The manual has also been updated.
