Hello, I'm trying to update an existing font that was created years ago with some other software. For the most part I've found Type 3.2 easy to work with, but I'm running into an issue when trying to update the version information. Despite changing the Version text under Font > Names > Advanced > Font names - advanced menu, it doesn't seem to work completely. The text I've entered is displaying if I right-click on the font file itself, and go to Properties > Details tab. However, when I preview the font (either once I've installed it, or even before) the version is still showing the old information, rather than what is shown in the Properties or the Font names Advanced. Am I missing something, or is it not possible to change this text somehow? I've attached screen shots of each of those windows to illustrate the issue. Thanks for any help in advance! S

I think that the problem is that the new font has not been installed properly. Do not rely on the Windows 'Font is already installed. Do you want to replace it?' option when installing a new version of a font. Go to the Windows/fonts directory and delete the font, then drag the new version into the fonts folder.
Important note: When you preview a font file by double clicking on it, if a different font with the same name is already installed, then the installed version will be previewed - not the one you have clicked on.

Hi Allan,
Thanks for your response. I'm actually getting this in a test environment where we don't have the old font installed to begin with, so I don't think it's an issue with it previewing a different version.
Do you have any other suggestions on what might be happening?
Thanks, S

Maybe check that the old version number does not still exist as an entry under a different language setting (check the languages that have a tick beside them on the drop-down menu on the font names dialog).
Also, make sure that the version number entry under fonts/description matches the one in the names table.
Otherwise you can send me the font (allanmurray@cr8software.net) and I will have a look at it.

Thanks very much Allan! It was indeed one of the other language settings and changing that has resolved the issue!
