Hi. I just recently installed TypeLight. While I'm not completely clueless about creating fonts, I would like to know if it is possible to create a glyph by importing a vector image. I have created a character set (in vector format / .AI), and would like to import the individual vectors into the program. I looked over the help section and found nothing pertaining to that procedure. Your advice would be appreciated. -Mike

Hi Mike,
Sorry to say there is currently no way of importing vector graphics into Type light.
Type 2.2 (full) can be used with the freeware utility CR8tracer to import vector graphics traced from bitmaps - but it can't open graphics that are already in vector form as yet.
Cheers, Allan

Is this still the same for Type 3.0 (full)?

Type 3.1 (full version) now supports the import of SVG graphics. You can export .svg files from Adobe Illustrator.
Version 3.1 is a free upgrade for 3.0 users.

I managed this by using the svg font editor in Inkscape to create a font with my vector images, saved it, converted it to ttf online and then opened it in type light.
