Hi. I need to encode magnetic cards with this combination 778=218050001=02001 on track 2 How can i put "=" character? "Space" doesn't work.
When i leave "=" then i have this 778_218050001_02001 When i put spaces i have this 77821805000102001
Thank you.

The "=" character is acceptable for track 2, and you should be able to input it directly - so the input string should be "778=218050001=02001"
If you are reading something else back once the card has been written, then there are two explanations:
1. The printer driver for your printer does not like the "=" character, or maybe the wrong magstripe driver setting has been used? What make/model printer are you using?
2. You card reader is making a conversion of the "=" character. Can you read back other cards correctly that have "=" on track 2?
PS. you can check what magstripe character string is actually being sent to the printer by printing the card to a conventional printer (or PDF printer). The magstripe string will be overlaid on the output.

I'm trying to encode magstripe on Datacard SP55 that prints from the test, but does not respond to printing from the software. Using Track 1, Hico, w % and ? as start and end sentinals. Using 1782^Twana's Cottage as the properties I enter. It prints the card well, but does not encode. No Data. I've enabled both the Mag stripe Encode Only and the Mag Stripe Escape Capability on all preferences. What else do I need to do, or not do please?

Although it does not encode; although, it does print the data to be encoded on the front of the card

The Datacard SP55 printer requires you to setup magstripe encoding using fonts. Go to magstrip setup on the options menu and select 'Track 1' for the Track 1 font, 'Track 2' for Track 2 etc. You may have to set your printer as the default printer for these fonts to show up.
