Hi,
First off, I'm using Type Light 3.2
A user has said they want the Arial Italic font to be 'more slanted'. I've tried two approaches: firstly I took the Arial italic font and changed the italic angle (via font / metrics) from -12 to -25. I then 'saved as' with a new name, but when I opened the new font, either in Type Light or just in Windows, there was no change.
My second approach was much the same: I took the basic Arial font and added an italic angle, but again when it was saved and re-opened the characters were all stubbornly upright.
As an aside when I altered the 'Italic Angle' setting there was no change in the characters displayed in the 'map' panel, although as a test when I changed 'EM Unit Size' this was immediately reflected.
What am I doing wrong?

The 'Italic angle' setting is description parameter that tells the application or operating system at what angle the glyphs have been slanted to. It should be set to the angle that matches way you designed your glyphs. Changing this value will not actually alter your glyphs. To do that you would probably need to use the skew transformation tool (which is only in the demo and full versions) to slant the glyphs a bit more, then also change the value of the 'italic angle' setting to match.
