I would like to be able to change all glyphs to go bold only on the x axis. This would be different from simply widening the glyph. Ideally it would thicken them and graduate into nothing at the top and the bottom if a curve were involved.

The bold function affects the x and y axes equally. This has been noted for a future update though.
