I figured out how to adjust the Kerning in my font, but how do I save my adjustments so that they will type that way? I did 'save as ___' and installed the font, I can't figure out how to make it work.

The application that you are using your font in has to support kerning.
To turn on kerning in MS Word, for example (TrueType fonts):
"Select the text for which you want to turn kerning on or off. Click on Format : Font…. Click on the "Character Spacing" tab. Check or uncheck the "Kerning for fonts" checkbox. If you put a check in the box in the previous step, set a value in the "Points and above" box. This setting tells Word what size text should be kerned. Click on the OK button."
