I downloaded the software, and got the desired results, EXCEPT for the fact that no matter what I do the font will not print Can you tell me what I might be doing wrong? Thanks

Soliloquy, It is hard to say what the problem is without more information, but in my experience most font problems arise from naming issues (eg the PostScript name is important if you are printing to a PostScript printer - though you cannot edit this with Type light, only full version) or encoding (eg wrong or no codepage active - the checkbox on the mapping window). If you send the font to me at allanmurray@cr8software.net then I will check it with font validator. Cheers, Allan Murray

Soliloquy sent me her font, which was a signature scanned and traced using CR8tracer.
Turned out that the glyph contained too many points (over 2000) and overlapping contours. CR8tracer had not done a very good job of tracing because the quality of the original bitmap.
When tracing images using CR8tracer there are a few things that can be done to improve the trace:
- use bitmaps that are 'sharp' with 'smooth' edges - use a black and white image - don't write with a felt pen (will get 'furry' edges) - try reducing the size of the image before tracing if too many points are generated - this will result in less points - use Photoshop or similar to adjust the image before tracing
