I work in music library processing. We have to create hand-typed labels for the front covers of all bound music scores.
In the call numbers for many scores and books we have the capital letters MO. To avoid confusing O with 0 (we use Times New Roman), we are asked to hand draw a curl on the tops of all the Os (to make them capital cursive Os). We do similar things with lowercase el, by hand-drawing a cursive lowercase el. The lowercase el character exists as Unicode 2113, but there is no character for capital script O.
Long story short, I am trying to use Type light to create and add the character to the Times New Roman font and I can't figure out how to add a character rather than replace it. I don't want to replace the capital O because we use non-script O in titles and author names.

Double click on a unicode character in the mapping window that is not currently in your font, then say 'yes' to the prompt. A blank glyph mapped to that character will be created.
